Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to celebrate you—our dedicated and compassionate volunteers who have made an incredible impact on the lives of our students and community.
Your time, energy, and heart have helped nurture young minds, spark curiosity, and build a brighter future.
This year, let's continue to inspire each other and our students to dream big and reach new heights. Together, we can create a world where every child feels empowered to achieve their full potential.
Thank you for being the heart and soul of City Schools. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things we’ll accomplish together this year.
In case of inclement weather leading to school closures, our Virtual Learn Plan begins after three traditional snow days to ensure uninterrupted and continued learning. Visit the City Schools website for details. Stay connected by downloading the City School Mobile App on Apple or Android for timely alerts and updates on weather-related closures and more!
The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners has begun the search for a new CEO, who will take office in July 2026. The process includes three phases: profile development, candidate recruitment, and interviews/selection.
Dr. Sonja Santelises, the current CEO, will serve through June 2026 following a one-year contract extension. Appointed in 2017, Dr. Santelises is the district’s longest-serving CEO in 78 years.
Stay tuned for updates as the search progresses!
