Proposal: Trauma-Informed Cosmetology Workshops
Offered by: Donna Bruce, CHW, RCPF, Senior Stylist & Founder of DBU INC
Schedule: After-school program, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 5 weeks, 2–3 times per week

Program Overview:
Our Trauma-Informed Cosmetology Workshops are designed to empower young people ages 14 and up, including those who have experienced various forms of trauma. This after-school program uses beauty and wellness as tools for healing, self-care, and skill-building in a safe and supportive environment.

What We Offer:

• Hands-on training in haircare, skincare, and makeup application.
• Self-care techniques to promote mental wellness and resilience.
• Confidence-building activities that foster personal growth and self-expression.
• Introduction to career opportunities in the beauty and wellness industry.
• Trauma-informed support provided by certified stylists trained to ensure every participant feels respected, comfortable, and empowered.

Additional Details:

• All tools and materials will be provided by DBU INC.
• Progress tracking will be implemented to monitor participant growth and skill development over the 5-week program.
• Flexible scheduling, running 2–3 times a week, based on school availability.
